Since 1st April of 2015, country-of-origin labelling is compulsory for fresh or frozen meat of swine, sheep, goats and poultries, according to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1337/2013.
Beef, minced and lean meat labelling is not taken into account in this regulation since it already has its own.
The goal of this law is to establish a link between comercialized meat and the animal it comes from.
